AFC Bournemouth have appointed SPS to assist them with the redevelopment of a 57-acre site for a new multi-million pound training complex. Phase 1 is the creation of the ‘Dome’ a large structure housing indoor training pitches. The dome is directly linked to Phase 2, which brings the rest of the facility together.
SPS installed 266 No. 350mm diameter CFA bearing piles.. Piles were constructed using C28/35 concrete to DC-2 classification and reinforced with 5H20 cages. The system was designed to support compression loads up to 230kN, horizontal loads up to 50kN and tension loads up to 55kN, with 100% integrity testing undertaken.
Specialist Piling were part of a team consisting of over 10 different companies to deliver this project.
