‘Pastures’, the 3rd phase of student accommodation in the University of Essex introduced 1,300 rooms for undergraduate students on the Colchester campus. Specialist Piling Solutions were appointed on 5 plots totalling 685 CFA Bearing Piles with an additional 28 on the 6 crane bases.
This marks the University of Essex’s third phase of student accommodation development by Uliving. It comes after the successful completion of Phase 1 in 2013, which included 648 new build bedrooms and the transfer of 772 bedrooms, as well as Phase 2 in 2018, which added 643 bedrooms to the university’s housing capacity.
“The Pastures” are situated on the outskirts of the campus, across from “The Meadows” (Phase 2) and in proximity to the Essex Business School. Additionally, they are conveniently close to a local supermarket, all while remaining just a 15-minute stroll from the heart of the campus.
The Essex Accommodation Team were also nominated for University Team of the Year prize in this year’s Student Accommodation Awards following their introductions.
